A Bear

A Bear are an epic new band from Manchester. They are an experimental rock 3-piece consisting of Luke, Nathan and Jake. Their songs have the unpredictable twists and turns of Tubelord, but with more tense and angry. It's obvious they are Biffy Clyro fans. Their other influences include Mclusky, Reuben and Bruce Willis. From what I can see they are still very small and currently only have a few rough demos recorded, but there's definately potential. They're writing and recording at the moment too, so that’s something to look forward to!

Calories are a band who care about your road safety. Belt up for safety, off we go is the simple but safe chorus in their track "A Bear A Bison", one of their two demo tracks available. It's a pretty angry song. Maybe they are angry at people who don't put their seatbelts on. I'll be honest, I don't wear mine. By this logic, Calories are angry at me. Oh bugger. There are 3 members in Calories; their names are John Biggs, Pete Dixon and Tom Whitfield. Their names don't stand out enormously; they all sound like they could be my dad's work colleagues. They don't sound like them though. You may like to know that all three members were previously in "underground noise pop heroes" Distophia. Their music is what a Tellison/Dartz supergroup would sound like, but with only 3 members. Feels good man.
